The second season of TGL tees off on Sunday, and the reigning champions will be playing with two players who have never competed inside SoFi Center.
TGL's Atlanta Drive GC announced Sunday morning that Patrick Cantlay and Lucas Glover are unable to compete in the season opener against New York Golf Club due to injury. They will be replaced by Corey Conners and Chris Gotterup in the match, joining Billy Horschel as the three players to take on the trio of Cam Young, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schauffele.
Justin Thomas was previously announced as unavailable for Atlanta Drive GC after undergoing back surgery in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup offseason.
The news came as a surprise for TGL fans, who had no inkling that either Cantlay or Glover were injured and unable to play.
Cantlay last played in the Ryder Cup, and his last event recognized by the Official World Golf Ranking was the Procore Championship, the Ryder Cup team's warm-up event and the kickoff to the FedEx Cup Fall in September.
Glover didn't play at all in the FedEx Cup Fall, exiting from the FedEx Cup playoffs after the BMW Championship.
Gotterup won his second PGA Tour event in 2025 at the Genesis Scottish Open, while Conners' best finish of 2025 was a third-place effort at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He placed seventh in the Hero World Challenge at the start of December.
