The rumor mill was turning hard last week that a pair of South Korean superstars would be leaving the PGA Tour and heading to LIV Golf in 2026.
As it turns out, neither of them are leaving the PGA Tour.
Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im were both rumored to be signing with LIV Golf, with several reporters and social-media fan accounts posting that their moves were, more or less, imminent to the Saudi-owned league.
Several reporters and social-media influencers quickly refuted the Im rumors, suggesting the information was patently false.
Through his management company All That Sports, a statement read: "It is not true at all to go to LIV Golf. We are focusing on preparing for the PGA Tour next season, and there is no change related to our future career path."
Im then took to social media to make it clear on his Instagram story that he was not leaving the PGA Tour. It was a quick denial of a false story.
However, other accounts, mostly without journalistic pedigree, suggested that Kim was absolutely leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf and most likely play on Kevin Na's Iron Heads team. While Kim did get a LIV Golf offer, which he considered, Kim decided to remain on the PGA Tour.
"It is true that Kim Si-woo, like many Korean players, has been offered a recruitment. However, Kim Si-woo finally expressed his intention to refuse and decided to remain on the PGA Tour," said a representative for Kim, accoring to Maeil Business Newspaper in South Korea.
Kim posted to his socials a photo of him winning the Sony Open in Hawaii back in 2023, telling his fans that he's looking forward to starting 2026 in Honolulu at Waialae Country Club.
