The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 John Deere Classic starting on Thursday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

My PGA Tour field ranking for John Deere Classic looks at the top 10 players in this 156-player field that brings together the best in the world for the continuation of the Midwest stretch of the season.

The John Deere Classic is back, and this is a go-low tournament that still offers an interesting challenge for the players this week. The field is about as good as it's ever been, and that's largely because the cutoff to make the playoffs has changed.

Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 John Deere Classic rankings.

2025 John Deere Classic expert picks and rankings

1. Ben Griffin: Griffin continues to be fabulous and truly is the standout player in the field this season. This course seems to line up with his game.

2. Denny McCarthy: McCarthy finds this course to be a place he likes, and he's been playing pretty well -- though not for four rounds in a row -- lately.

3. Michael Thorbjornsen: Thor seemed to figured something out recently, and these are the kinds of events where he should see some success.

4. Ryan Gerard: I probably regard Gerard -- sorry for the rhyme -- too highly, but he continues to show up and play well pretty much anywhere on Tour.

5. Chris Kirk: Kirk had an unfortunate demise in the Rocket Classic playoff, but he's demonstrated some great golf since the US Open.

6. Chris Gotterup: Gotterup continues to play well of late, and that should get him some love here this week along with course form.

7. Bud Cauley: Cauley has been fantastic through a lot of the year, and I think this could be a good place for him to reach a trophy.

8. Jason Day: I'm not entirely convinced that this is the kind of place that makes sense for Day, but I do like that he's giving it a go here.

9. Lucas Glover: Glover has an affinity for this place, and he keeps patronizing the event. As always, putter is a big question with him.

10. Jake Knapp: Provided that Knapp can keep it in play, there's no reason to think he can't contend again this week.
