2025 Rocket Classic: Expert picks, PGA Tour field rankings and fantasy golf tips

The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 Rocket Classic starting on Thursday at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan.

My PGA Tour field ranking for Rocket Classic looks at the top 10 players in this 156-player field that brings together the best in the world for the start of the Midwest stretch of the season.

The Rocket Classic is back, and this is a go-low tournament that still offers an interesting challenge for the players this week. It's a total turnabout from the test of the US Open at Oakmont, with the Donald Ross test being scorable.

Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 Rocket Classic rankings.

2025 Rocket Classic expert picks and rankings

1. Ben Griffin: Griffin continues to be fabulous and truly is the standout player in the field this season.

2. Patrick Cantlay: Cantlay might be snapping out of a bit of a funk based on a good week at the Travelers, which is one of his favorite tournaments.

3. Keegan Bradley: The Captain has a lot on his mind now that he's got a good chance of making his own Ryder Cup team. Another win, and he's a mortal lock.

4. Cam Young: Young showed up again in another tough-scoring major championship, and then he had a good week in Hartford. Things are coming along.

5. Hideki Matsuyama: Matsuyama is living in the mid-30s on the leaderboard these days, but he should jump out in this field.

6. Harry Hall: The Brit has been racking up solid finishes now for the better part of two months, and this place should fit his game.

7. Ryan Gerard: There are a ton of people you could put in this spot and below, but Gerard seems to thrive on go-low courses with generous landing areas, liek this one.

8. Wyndham Clark: Maybe Clark just needed a really tough week of getting raked over the coals to realize he has to buck up. He seemed to show up well at the Travelers.

9. Cam Davis: Cam Davis has two PGA Tour wins, and they're both in this event. Plan accordingly.

10. Chris Kirk: Kirk hadn't been playing his best golf leading into the US Open, and then he finished T-12. He likes Detroit Golf Club.
