Minjee Lee came in to the final round of 2025 KPGA Women's PGA Championship looking to break through and capture her third LPGA major on a difficult host course in Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco.
Lee is 29 years old, and she is in the field at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship because of her status on the LPGA Tour this season as a five-time winner.
For Lee, her journey to the pinnacle of women's professional golf is a remarkable story.
Lee is from Australia, and she has accomplished a lot in the game already. She turned pro in 2015, and she has been a steady part of the LPGA for a decade.
Lee is a big winner already
Minjee Lee has won 10 times on the LPGA, with the last two coming in late 2023, at the 2023 Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G and the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship.
She has ended the year at No. 4 in the world twice, in 2022 and 2023.
Entering this week, Lee was ranked 24th in the Rolex Women's World Golf Ranking. A year ago, she was ranked 11th, and a win could move her back into the top 10.
What a win at the Grant Thornton Invitational means
With a win, Lee would earn her half of the winner's share of 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship payout, taking home $1,800,000.
