2025 US Open: Expert picks, PGA Tour field rankings and fantasy golf tips

The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 US Open starting on Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.

My PGA Tour field ranking for US Open looks at the top 10 players in this 156-player field that brings together the best in the world for the USGA-run national championship.

The US Open is back at Oakmont, and the reality is that this is the major for bombers to have their best shot. Think about the top players in driving distance, and then work back from there.

Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 US Open rankings.

2025 US Open expert picks and rankings

1. Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler is clearly the best player on the planet, hits it a mile and contends in practically every major.

2. Bryson DeChambeau: Bryson is a two-time US Open winner, and he keeps throwing up good performances on LIV.

3. Rory McIlroy: McIlroy gets this spot based on the totality of his year, definitely not his current form.

4. Corey Conners: This is probably a bit of a surprise, but Conners is doing well in every facet of the game that doesn't involve putting.

5. Jon Rahm: Rahm went down swinging at the PGA, and I don't think you should necessarily knock him for fading in an attempt to win.

6. Collin Morikawa: I know Morikawa isn't a bomber, but he is one of the few short-ish players in the field who can ballstrike their way into keeping up.

7. Xander Schauffele: I really want Schauffele to be higher ranked on this list, but we're halfway into the campaign, and he feels miles from last year.

8. Joaquin Niemann: Niemann has won four times on LIV this year, and while that has netted a back-door good finish at Quail Hollow, it's hard to recommend him here.

9. Shane Lowry: I've loved Lowry for this event for a while now, and I'm not backing down at this point.

10. Ludvig Aberg: Ludvig has been all over the map this year, but it's impossible to deny his value when brute strength is what matters most this week.
