The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 The CJ Cup Byron Nelson starting on Thursday at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
My PGA Tour field ranking for The CJ Cup Byron Nelson looks at the top 10 players in this 156-player field that brings together the best golfers in the world in honor of Byron Nelson.
The CJ Cup Byron Nelson is a tournament with the world No. 1 and then eight of the rest of the world top 50 competing this week. It's Scottie and then everyone else.
TPC Craig Ranch is fine as a golf course. It's well-conditioned, but it's nothing really special. It's wide open off the tee, and the greens are huge. Scoring is pretty simple.
Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 The CJ Cup Byron Nelson rankings.
2025 The CJ Cup Byron Nelson expert picks and rankings
1. Scottie Scheffler: The best player in the field by far, Scheffler is trying to get his first win this year on a course that does help his strengths.
2. Taylor Pendrith: The defending champion is looking for a repeat, which has happened here previously.
3. Rasmus Hojgaard: The Hojgaards were fantastic at TPC Louisiana last week, and Rasmus is going to get that PGA Tour win soon.
4. Sam Burns: Burns finished T-13 at the RBC Heritage, which breaks a bad run of PGA Tour finishes and potentially indicates an upswing.
5. Stephan Jaeger: The German has enjoyed a solid year, and his length off the tee should be a big asset this week.

6. Sungjae Im: Sungjae has been great the last two times out, and there's reason to believe that run continues this week.
7. Jordan Spieth: Spieth really doesn't fit here based on his length, but the relative width kind of helps his errant driver play.
8. Jake Knapp: Knapp loves himself a wide-open golf course, and he hits the hell out of the ball, which is to be underscored this week.
9. Ryan Gerard: Gerard is a remarkably consistent player, and he won on the Korn Ferry Tour last year on a course that feels like this one.
10. Ben Griffin: I don't think Griffin is particularly well-fit for TPC Craig Ranch, but he did finally break through last week with Andrew Novak.
