Here’s why CBS, Golf Channel aren’t showing the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans

If you've tuned into either Golf Channel or CBS Sports on Sunday to watch the final round of the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, then you've probably been disappointed to find that's not on TV live right now.

The reason for the issue is a power outage preventing the PGA Tour from broadcasting from on site at TPC Louisiana in Avondale. It's unclear for how much longer the problem will continue, though CBS did get on camera during the top of the scheduled Sunday final-round broadcast window to explain the situation.

For Golf Channel, their choice was to pivot to PGA Tour Champions live coverage of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic in Duluth, Georgia. That was the next scheduled event on the channel, so they moved to that, as there are no on-site issues for the 50-plus tour.

For CBS, it's not as easy to just show something else live. Instead, they've chose to air the final round of the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which led to Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry winning the two-man team event.

As the final round unfolds in Louisiana, the duo of Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin -- both seeking their first PGA Tour win after many close calls between them -- lead by three strokes.

Meanwhile, the LPGA Tour's first major of the year, The Chevron Championship, is being played in Texas and airing on NBC. LIV Golf Mexico City is unfolding in the Mexican capital and on FS1, and the final round of the Veritex Bank Championship is also happening in Texas.
