The 2025 The Chevron Championship final leaderboard is headed by winner Mao Saigo, who topped the LPGA Tour leaderboard this week with a major championship win at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas.

Saigo won for the 1st time in her LPGA career, prevailing with a 4-foot birdie putt on the par-5 18th in the first hole of a sudden-death playoff against Ruoning Yin, Ariya Jutanugarn, Lindy Duncan and Hyo Joo Kim.

All five players finished regulation tied on 7-under 281 total after a wild 90 minutes in which Saigo and Duncan made 72-hole birdies to get in. Jutanugarn made bogey 6 on 18 after hitting it toward the grandstands behind the 18th green.

In the playoff, Ruoning Yin found the green in two and had 15 feet for eagle. However, after her putt went 6 feet by, she missed the birdie bid. Duncan made bogey. Hyo Joo Kim missed birdie on the low side. Jutanugarn, who went long again in the playoff, lipped out for birdie like Yin. That left Saigo, who made the putt for 4 and the win.

Saigo won the $1,200,000 winner's share of the $8,000,000 purse.

The Chevron Championship recap notes

Saigo picks up the win in the eighth LPGA Tour event of the season, getting in the winner's circle for the initial time in her career and earning her first major title. Japanese players have won three of the last five LPGA majors (Yuka Saso, Ayaka Furue).

By winning the event, Saigo earned 650 points in the Race to the CME Globe, with the top 60 players in points getting into the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.

This week, there was a 36-hole cut in this event, with 81 players finishing the tournament, including amateur Gianna Clemente.

The 2025 LPGA Tour schedule continues next week with Black Desert Championship in Utah.
