The Masters dates back to 1934, when the tournament debuted as the Augusta National Invitation Tournament. There have been 88 Masters played going those 90 years, and the prize money has increased dramatically in that time frame.

In 2024, Scottie Scheffler won $3.6 million in earning his second-career green jacket. However, despite two Masters wins at the most lucrative time in history to play the Masters Tournament, he's not the leader on the Masters all-time money list.

Phil Mickelson is the player who has won the most prize money in Masters history. He has played in 31 Masters tournaments and earned $9,845,317 in total prize money. That puts the three-time Masters champion in front of five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods.

Woods has won $9,642,636 in 26 career starts, marking a $202,681 difference between the two players. Woods has, of course, earned more per start than Mickelson.

Scheffler sits third on the career Masters money list, with $7,037,325 earned in just five Masters appearances, including those two wins. H has earned a remakable $1,407,465 per Masters Tournament played.

The remainder of the top 5 is, of course, younger players. Jordan Spieth is fourth on the list having earned $6,025,828 in 11 appearances, while 2023 winner Jon Rahm has made $5,120,217 in 8 starts.
