Tiger Woods and Augusta National Golf Club are teaming up to build a nine-hole short course in Augusta, Georgia, that you'll soon be able to play.
Augusta National and Masters chairman Fred Ridley announced Monday a new partnership between Woods, his TGR companies and the home of the Masters.
As part of the partnership, Woods and his TGR Design firm will design a short course that will be constructed Augusta Municipal Golf Course, a place known affectionately as The Patch, a municipal course in the city that the club has committed to renovating and restoring for the community.
The short course, dubbed The Loop, will be part of a reinvisioned property, including a re-designed 18-hole golf course from architects Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, as well as a sizable practice facility for all golfers.

The Patch renovation project is done through The Patch Project, LLC, which is a partnership between Augusta Technical College, The First Tee of Augusta and Masters Tournament Charities, Inc.
In addition, Woods' TGR Foundation and Augusta National will join forces to build a TGR Learning Lab in Augusta, which will provide access to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education and opportunities for young people to prepare for their futures. The TGR Learning Lab is set to open ahead of the 2028 Masters.
“Today’s announcements mark an important milestone for Augusta and deepen the connection our community has with one of our greatest Masters champions, Tiger Woods,” said Ridley. “We are thankful to partner with the TGR Foundation and jointly invest in the Augusta community. This partnership, in the TGR Learning Lab, reflects our shared interest in increasing access to high-quality programming and impacting the next generation in a tangible way.
“At the heart of our effort at The Patch is a commitment to create an affordable and inviting golf experience. Equal importance will be placed on creating opportunities to learn and fall in love with the game as well as developing a pipeline for employment in the golf industry. We are proud to add TGR Design to work alongside our project partners to bring this dynamic plan to fruition.”
Woods, a five-time Masters champion, has reveled in designing short course with his architectural firm. His short course at Bluejack National in Texas has drawn acclaim, and his renovation of The Hay short course at Pebble Beach has been very well received.
“Partnering with Augusta National Golf Club to serve its surrounding community is truly special,” said Woods. “My passion for education and golf dates back a long time, as does my relationship with Augusta National and the city of Augusta. This is a transformational opportunity to empower the next generation and deliver meaningful educational programming and access to fun and affordable golf. I am excited to work alongside Augusta National and see both projects become a reality.”
