Rickie Fowler is not a man to back away from making a fashion statement inside the ropes, and he's definitely making one on Thursday in the first round of the WM Phoenix Open.
Fowler is wearing head-to-toe camo at TPC Scottsdale, as the tournament that's the best party in golf gets underway.
Puma Golf, Fowler's long-time apparel sponsor, has released a collaborative collection with Realtree that includes camo and other looks inspired by apparel worn while hunting, fishing and hiking. Fowler is embracing the whole thing for the opening round.

What's particularly interesting is the fan reaction to Fowler's camosuit compared to Jason Day's Malbon Golf sweatsuit that he wore at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last week. Some fans were adamant that they'd rather wear the camosuit because the shape of the clothes are traditional for golf, even if the pattern isn't necessarily as common. Some fans ruled the contest a tie.
Either way, it's another example of a golf brand that's willing to generate buzz for their unique apparel and have found eager staffers willing to wear the threads to generate a reaction.
Fowler has long been willing to wear unique styles and colors in events, including wearing plus-4s as a Payne Stewart tribute at Pinehurst No. 2 and other examples through the course of his career.
