The 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic marks the fifth event of the season on the DP World Tour, with the first full-field event of the year unfolding from Thursday through Sunday at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This week's DP World Tour event has a $9 million purse, with a 126-player field competing in the tournament. Every player in the field competes in a pro-am for the first three rounds.

The winner's share of the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic prize pool is at $1,530,000, with the second-place finisher taking home $990,000 in DP World Tour prize money, provided they finish in solo second place and there is no need to split prize money among ties.

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic winner takes home 17 percent of the purse to the winner, and how much each DP World Tour player earns is guaranteed down to the last-place professional player.

Hero Dubai Desert Classic field is headed by Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood and more.

The tournament starts on Thursday with 126 players, and a cut will be made this week after two rounds to the top 65 players and ties. Every professional player in the field is paid for completing the event. The DP World Tour typically adding money to the purse if more than 65 professionals make the cut to ensure all players are paid.

While money is crucial to a professional golfer's livelihood, they also benefit from Race to Dubai points and Official World Golf Ranking points that can earn them bonus money and entry into future events, like major championships.

The winner of this event will get 1,335 Race to Dubai points, as is practice relative on the DP World Tour to give points relative to the purse size.

The champion also gets a to-be-determined amount of Official World Golf Ranking points -- likely around 34.

All DP World Tour members who complete four rounds this week will earn both Race to Dubai points, and all players who make the cut will earn Official World Golf Ranking points.
