Nick Dunlap did something in 2024 that no golfer has ever done in the history of the modern PGA Tour: He won on the PGA Tour as both an amateur and a professional in the same season.

Now, the two-time PGA Tour winner has been voted the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year by his peers. Dunlap is the youngest player to be named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year since Jordan Spieth in 2013.

“Nick carved out his place in the PGA Tour record book. To begin 2024 as a collegiate golfer and end it with two PGA Tour victories and among the top-50 players in the FedEx Cup is truly impressive,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan.

Dunlap wins the award at 20 years, 11 months, 12 days, making him the second-youngest player to win the award since it was created in 1990. Jordan Spieth won the 2013 award at the age of 20 years, 2 months.

Rookie of the Year is determined by a member vote of PGA Tour players who played in at least 15 events during the 2024 season. Dunlap received 57 percent of the vote for the Arnold Palmer Award and edged out Max Greyserman, Jake Knapp and Matthieu Pavon for the honor.

Dunlap won The American Express in January, becoming the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson in Tucson in 1991. In The American Express, Dunlap shot a third-round 60 and ultimately paid it off with the win. Four days later, Dunlap went from being University of Alabama sophomore and No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking to professional golfer.

In July, Dunlap won the Barracuda Championship, capping off a multi-win season. Dunlap finished No. 49 in the FedEx Cup, getting him into all of the PGA Tour Signature events in 2025. Dunlap is now ranked 32nd in the Official World Golf Ranking, setting him up to get in all four majors in 2025.
