The 2019 PNC Father-Son Challenge purse is set for $1.085 million, with the winner's share coming in at $200,000 -- more than the standard 18 percent payout according to the PGA Tour's prize money distribution chart.
The PNC Father-Son Challenge field is headed by 20 two-player teams, with stars like Jack Nicklaus, Padraig Harrington, David Duval and Tom Watson teaming with their children or grandchildren.
The prize money is split between teammates if one player is a professional. Otherwise, the pro gets all the money.
Every team is paid as part of the competition. In order to qualify, the professional golfer must have won a major championship or The Players in their careers.
The two-round event is played in a scramble format. Each player hits each shot, and the pair picks the best result and plays that as their next shot until the ball is holed for each hole.
The event is played this year at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
