2017 Greenbrier Classic Thursday’s first round: Leaderboard, featured groups, tee times, TV, pin placements

The 2017 Greenbrier Classic begins on Thursday (July 6) with the first round from The Old White TPC at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. The first round begins right at 7 a.m. Eastern time, with players teeing off two tees on the renovated tournament host.

Danny Lee, the 2015 champion, defends against a field headlined by Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed and Bubba Watson that is vying for the $1,278,000 first-place prize from the $7.1 million prize pool.

The 2017 Greenbrier Classic leaderboard is expected to feature low scores, with Wednesday rains softening a renovated course that is already a little soft as it retakes the PGA Tour stage. (PGATour.com has the live leaderboard.)

A full starting field teed off in threesomes on Thursday, with the 2017 Greenbrier Classic Thursday tee times running from 7 a.m. Eastern time through the final group at 2 p.m. Here are some marquee groups throughout the day.

The Greenbrier Classic airs on TV on Thursday on Golf Channel, with coverage going from 3-6 p.m. Eastern.
