LPGA pro Xiyu Lin celebrates birthday with party hat through most of Saturday play

LPGA pro Xiyu Lin turned 21 on Saturday, and she wasn't going to stop competing in the Honda LPGA Thailand stop her from having a proper birthday celebration while on the course.

Xiyu played 29 holes on Saturday, including the final 11 of the suspended second round, and wore a party hat for 24 of them. You know, the kind of party hat you wear when you're like 7 years old.

"I been looking forward to this days for long time," she said afterward, explaining her playing partner's caddie brought the hat to the resumption of play. "And, I mean, it's going to be really long day here today, but I mean, I got all my friends celebrate with me. I feel really good."

Lin finished both rounds in 73 shots each, winding up at 3-over total for the tournament and tied for 55th place heading into Sunday's final round in Thailand. to sit at 3-over for the tournament which is tied for 55th.
