Sergio Garcia and his girlfriend Angela Akins (Hamann) are engaged to be married. Both the Spaniard pro golfer and the former Golf Channel reporter made the announcement on Twitter.

The pair have been together since 2016, and Akins reduced her role on Golf Channel as things became serious with Garcia. Akins joined Golf Channel in 2015 as a reporter and interviewer. She was also a post-round interviewer at PGA Tour events, likely how she met Garcia.
Akins, 31, graduated from the University of Texas, where she was on the women's golf team. Before moving to Golf Channel, she worked for Fox Sports Southwest. She's also cousins with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
Garcia, 36, has never married. He was thought to have been previously engaged, in 2014, to ex-girlfriend Katharina Boehm, though the couple never spoke publicly about their intention to marry. In fact, Garcia told the New York Times something that now proves prophetic.
"If we get married or something, I’m sure everybody will find out," Garcia said then.
Well, we know now, and Garcia and Akins plan to get married sometime in 2017.
