The PGA Tour's hardest holes are tough, difficult and pack a lot of punch. Some are among the hardest holes in the world. And when you put together the 18 hardest holes on the PGA Tour, you get a picture of just how tough the PGA Tour can be.

So, we looked at the scoring average on each hole on the PGA Tour in 2015-16, taking the 18 hardest, non-major holes from the 48-50 courses they play each year and putting together the toughest course of PGA Tour holes possible.

The 18 hardest holes on the PGA Tour during the 2015-16 season

  1. Farmers Insurance Open, Torrey Pines GC (South), No. 12, par 4, 504 yards, 0.508 over par
  2. The Honda Classic, PGA National (Champion), No. 14, par 4, 465 yards, 0.49 over par
  3. Wells Fargo Championship, Quail Hollow Club, No. 18, par 4, 493 yards, 0.481 over par
  4. RBC Heritage, Harbour Town GL, No. 14, par 3, 192 yards, 0.441 over par

  7. RBC Heritage, Harbour Town GL, No. 18, par 4, 472 yards, 0.415 over par
  8. The Honda Classic, PGA National (Champion), No. 11, par 4, 450 yards, 0.412 over par
  9. WGC-Cadillac Championship, Trump National Doral, No. 4, par 3, 227 yards, 0.402 over par
  10. Farmers Insurance Open, Torrey Pines GC (South), No. 7, par 4, 462 yards, 0.395 over par
  11. The Honda Classic, PGA National (Champion), No. 6, par 4, 479 yards, 0.392 over par
  12. Shell Houston Open, GC of Houston, No. 18, par 4, 488 yards, 0.391 over par
  13. OHL Classic at Mayakoba, El Camaleon GC, No. 14, par 4, 452 yards, 0.381 over par
  14. The Honda Classic, PGA National (Champion), No. 10, par 4, 508 yards, 0.374 over par
  15. Farmers Insurance Open, Torrey Pines GC (South), No. 4, par 4, 488 yards, 0.371 over par

  18. Valspar Championship, Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead), No. 16, par 4, 475 yards, 0.354 over par

With Torrey Pines' South Course and the Champion Course at PGA National proving the two hardest courses on the PGA Tour each year, it's no surprise that those courses have so many holes in the 18 toughest. The same is true with Innisbrook's Copperhead Course, which hosts the Valspar Championship.

As you've probably noticed, there wasn't a single par 5 on the 18 hardest holes on the PGA Tour in 2015-16. For good reason. They're supposed to be easier to score on, for the most part. So, what's the hardest par 5 on the PGA Tour? It's the 14th at Pebble Beach Golf Links because it has one of the hardest-to-hold greens for a par 5 on the planet.
