Stacy Lewis is now a happily married woman, and she tied the knot just in time for the 2016 women's Olympic golf tournament.
Lewis and University of Houston women's golf coach Gerrod Chadwell were married Saturday in a small ceremony among family and friends in Mystic, Conn.
Chadwell proposed to Lewis in November 2015 while the couple was on campus at the University of Arkansas, Lewis’ alma mater, for a Razorbacks football game.
The couple will make a mini-honeymoon of heading to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with Lewis taking part as one of three American women in the the Olympic women’s golf tournament, which begins Aug. 17. The 31-year-old world No. 7 arrives in Rio on a hot streak on the LPGA Tour, finishing in the top seven in her last four starts.
