For the second time in three years, Jason Day has won the WGC-Dell Match Play. After beating Rory McIlroy 1 up in the marquee matchup of the day in the semifinal round, Day displaced of 16th-seeded Louis Oosthuizen by a 5-and-4 count at Austin Country Club to win the championship and his second PGA Tour victory in as many weeks, backing up a win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
With the victory, Day, who is the new world No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, won the $1.62 million winner's share of the $9.5 million purse.
