Tiger Woods to play in Americas Golf Cup with Matt Kuchar

Tiger Woods is set to team up with Matt Kuchar in the second Bridgestone Americas Golf Cup, a two-man event that will be played Oct. 23-25 in Mexico as part of the PGA Tour Latinoamerica schedule.

Woods appears in a commercial, available on YouTube, promoting his appearance in the event, inviting fans to purchase tickets to see him and Kuchar in the 72-hole stroke-play event.

The 14-time major winner and Kuchar were scheduled to compete together in the inaugural edition of this event in Argentina last year, but Woods pulled out with a flare up of back problems, which prompted Kuchar to bail out as well and play instead in a home game at the McGladrey Classic on the PGA Tour.

Following his season-best T-10 finish at the Wyndham Championship, Woods said his next two events would be the Frys.com Open to start the new PGA Tour season in October and then "possibly Mexico for sure."

After the event ended last year, officials quickly announced the duo were committed for 2015.
