Andrey Pavlov did not get off to a good start on Friday in Round 2 of the Lyoness Open in Austria. In benign conditions, the Russian golfer scored 12-over 17 on the par-5 first at Diamond C.C.
How'd he do it? Well, he found one of the club's numerous water hazards six times on the first hole, leading to a tie for the second-worst score on a single hole in European Tour history. Chris Gane also scored a 17 at Gleneagles in 2003, while Philippe Porquier holds the dubious record with a 20 at the French Open in 1978.
Pavlov, who opened with 1-under 71 on Thursday, shot 90 in total, playing the rest of the way in 6 over par.
