Open liquor cabinet: $10K in booze stolen from U.S. Open

They call it the U.S. Open. That doesn't mean the bar is open, but to some thieves, they took it that way.

On Tuesday after the Open at Merion, someone stole about $10,000 of alcohol from the tournament's Trophy Club tent on the campus of Haverford College, according to Philly.com.

The Trophy Club is an on-site, air-conditioned hospitality area run by the USGA at many of its championships. For this Open, it was located at Haverford College, some 400 yards from the clubhouse parking area and the 18th hole at Merion Golf Club's East Course.
