If you've ever watched a yule log burn on TV, then you know it's mundane and simultaneously mesmerizing. That flame just keeps on going, doesn't it?

Well, if you're a golfer, that can be kind of depressing because the yule log is just another reminder that golf season is likely over for you. So, we have an alternative that might not be as much of a bummer.

The folks at Laser Time have posted a YouTube video of a focused laser beam melting a golf ball. It's pretty great, watching the cover catch flame, then slowly melt off, revealing the innards of the ball.

Fortunately, it's an old Top Flite that's getting what it had coming to it, which is an inspiration for what to do with all those unused balls in my basement.
