Every circle on the card during the 2019 Hero World Challenge will mean a donation to help the ongoing Bahamian recovery from Hurricane Dorian.

The tournament announced Dec. 2 that the event will make a donation to the One Bahamas Fund for every birdie, eagle and hole-in-one during tournament week. The tournament will donate $500 for each birdie, $1,000 for each eagle and $2,500 for each hole in one made by the professionals in competition rounds.

The Hero World Challenge is played Dec. 4-7 at Albany Golf Club, which did not suffer substantial damage from the hurricane.

Woods and Justin Timberlake co-founded the One Bahamas Fund after Hurricane Dorian, seeking to raise recovery funds with an eye toward education, housing and renewed entrepreneurialism. Woods and Timberlake are working with the Nexus Luxury Collection, Royal Bank of Canada and members of the Albany community, like Woods, on the effort. The fund has pledged $6 million, matching donations dollar for dollar with the goal of raising $12 million.

Dorian directly hit several islands in the chain, including Abaco and Great Bahama Island. The Korn Ferry Tour has two events in the Bahamas to start their season, and one had to be moved as a result of the hurricane. More than 75 percent of the land mass of several islands was underwater as a result of the Dorian-caused storm surge, decimating neighborhoods and entire towns. The Bahamian government's current death tally is 50. However, another 2,500 people are reported missing, and 70,000 people have been displaced from their homes.

Dorian was estimated to have caused estimated $7 billion in damage.
