Wisconsin is rapidly developing into one of the nation’s best states for golf travel. In particular, the middle of Wisconsin has become a hotbed for golf. Now, one of the region’s best courses is adding on-site accommodations. SentryWorld in Stevens Point, in central Wisconsin, is adding a boutique hotel off the 18th fairway of their SentryWorld course, located across the street from Sentry’s headquarters.
SentryWorld’s profile increased in 2019 after hosting the US Junior Girls’ Amateur for the USGA, and the new hotel should help lure diehard players making the trek to Wisconsin to play golf. Not only will the upscale hotel service golf travelers, but the hotel can house guests of the leading mutual insurer, which also sponsors the PGA Tour’s year-starting Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
“Sentry thrives on building relationships and delivering exceptional customer service,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry chairman of the board, president and CEO. “Owning and operating a boutique hotel on our campus will allow us to provide our business insurance customers, agents and brokers a truly distinctive experience. And it will offer visitors to SentryWorld, and our community, extraordinary comfort and amenities during their stay.”
The SentryWorld course is part of a broader SentryWorld complex, which has a wealth of spaces for activities. Swaback Architects, which redesigned the SentryWorld campus in 2013, will design the hotel, which is expected to open in spring 2021.
