Looking to offer shapes preferred by the world's best players on tours spanning the globe, Golf Pride announces a new Pro Only putter grip series.

Building on classic shapes many golfers have come to grip and trust over the years, the Pro Only series has three distinct models that use proprietary tuned-rubber material for ideal feel and feedback.

The company reports some 21 of the top 30 in the PGA Tour's strokes gained putting category prefer a smaller putter grip because of the feel and control they provide. The Pro Only series looks to blend the smaller shapes with performance materials.

Each grip is indicated by a colored star on the end so a golfer can more easily discern them.

  • The Red Star grip is a modern horseshoe shape with an arched paddle in front for thumb placement. There's a slight pistol kick on the back of the grip for hand placement on the heel. It weighs 74.5 grams and is 72cc.
  • The Blue Star has an angled profile with a wider flat paddle in the front, while boasting an angled back shape for more comfortable gripping with the fingers. It weights 82 grams and is slightly bigger at 81cc.
  • The Green Star grip is more oval-shaped with an arched paddle in the front for thumb placement. The upper hand area is more flared back for comfort and positioning. It's the biggest grip at 88cc and weighs 86.5 grams.

The Golf Pride Pro Only grip series hits retail Sept. 1 for $13 each.
