In the history of the the US Senior Open, the second-oldest of the five senior majors after the Senior PGA Championship, the 72-hole scoring record belongs to one player.

Kenny Perry took the US Senior Open 72-hole scoring record when he won in 2017 at Salem Country Club in Massachusetts, shooting 16-under 264 to claim another senior major win.

However, Fred Funk owns the 72-hole US Senior Open scoring record in relationship to par. Funk finished at 20-under 268 when he won the 2009 US Senior Open at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana.

Most golf fans also know the lowest 18-hole score ever recorded in a major championship is 61, but in the US Senior Open, it's 62. Five players have shot 62 in the US Senior Open, including Loren Roberts at Prairie Dunes in 2006, Kirk Triplett and Brandt Jobe at Salem Country Club in 2017, and Steve Stricker and David Toms in the first round of the 2019 US Senior Open at Warren Golf Course at the University of Notre Dame.

The other significant scoring records in US Senior Open, the 36-hole and 54-hole scoring records, were set by Steve Stricker this year at 126 and 192 through two and three rounds, respectively. Both of those records Stricker set bested the prior record by three shots.
