The LPGA Tour has a new event in Florida in 2020, and it'll be in the Boca Raton area. The Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio will be held Jan. 23-26 at Boca Rio Golf Club.

Gainbridge is a brand under the Group1001 company, which is a series of insurance and financial management brands.

The new event will be the second on the LPGA's 2020 schedule, with the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions kicking off the season at Tranquilo Golf Club just outside of Disney World in Orlando from January 16-19. The Boca event is the third on the LPGA calendar in 2020, with the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Naples.

The inaugural Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio will feature a 108-player field competing for a $2 million purse. Boca Rio Golf Club, which was founded in 1967 and designed by Robert von Hagge, is close to the Florida east coast with no developed real estate.

The addition of the Gainbridge event creates an early season American swing that's key for the LPGA before the Tour heads to Australasia to kick off the season before making their way back to the U.S. in February and March.
