Michelle Wie is officially engaged to be married to now fiance Jonnie West, with Wie revealing the great news on Instagram.
Justin Thomas was the one who set up Wie with West, who is the son of NBA legend and the inspiration for the Association's logo, Jerry West. Jonnie West is the Warriors director of basketball operations. Before that, he was the director of player programs, helping new NBA players transition successfully to professional life. Before working in the NBA for the Warriors, West was with Wasserman Sports Group.
Young Jonnie also caddied for Steph Curry when the Golden State Warriors guard competed in the 2017 Web.com Tour event at TPC Stonebrae in the Bay Area in California, where West is a member.
Wie and West haven't been dating particularly long, though Wie went public with the relationship in January 2019.
Wie attempted to make a return to the LPGA in February, defending her title at the HSBC Women's World Championship after hand surgery in October 2018. However, she tweaked an injury and had to withdraw after 15 holes of the first round. Wie was holding her right wrist in pain.
The 2014 US Women's Open champion is hoping to make a full return soon.
