FootJoy announces updated Pro/SL shoes

FootJoy's Pro/SL golf shoes have proven a strong seller in pro shops (as is perhaps expected), and they've been the choice of dozens of top pros over the last two years. Now the company is coming out with a new version of the Pro/SL to update the line.

The Pro/SL has a modern look to it, with a softer, waterproof leather upper providing comfort and a classic look. The midsole, built on the Fine-Tuned Foam used in lieu of EVA foam, is designed to create a cradled feeling for a comfortable walk. The secondary layer on the outside of the shoe also uses Fine-Tuned Foam with a firmer base for comfort and traction. The traction layer on the outsole features 223 separate traction points with the ground to offer stability throughout the myriad motions of the golf swing and interactions with the turf and sand through a round.

Three styles of the new FootJoy Pro/SL shoes will be available Oct. 1, including a model featuring the Boa closure system. Three more models, including another Boa colorway, arrive Jan. 15, 2019. The regular version of the shoes will sell for $175, with the Boa edition going for $210 per pair.
