Euro captain Thomas Bjorn is getting a tattoo of the 2018 Ryder Cup winning score

Victorious European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn made a promise to his team long before they trounced the American side in the 2018 matches by a 17.5-10.5 count at Le Golf National in Paris. Bjorn said he would have a tattoo of the final score of this Ryder Cup put on his butt, no matter what happened.

Now that he's a winning captain -- with only Nick Faldo and Darren Clarke remaining the only captains to lose this century -- Bjorn is going to follow through. The only reason we'll know it exists is because Bjorn told everyone after the matches ended in the ninth European win in the last 12 biennial matches.

“Let me put it this way. It’s going to go on a part that only (girlfriend) Grace will see," Bjorn said. "I might have to send them a picture, but then you’ll all see it as well, I guess.”

For his part, Ian Poulter said he and his teammates were particularly driven to give Bjorn a good number.

“We had some extra motivation this week to make sure we put our hands back on that trophy, as little or as big as that number is going to be,” Poulter said. “It will be a very interesting number to see.”

Despite the win and earning a place in European Ryder Cup lore, Bjorn doesn't seem too thrilled with the choice.

Of the tattoo, Bjorn said, “[It's] the worst decision I made all week."
