The first-ever Augusta National Women's Amateur championship is set for April 3-6, 2019, playing the first 36 holes of the 54-hole event at Champions Retreat, near Augusta, Ga., before the final round on Saturday, April 6 at Augusta National Golf Club on the day before the Drive, Chip and Putt national finals at the home of the Masters.

Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley announced the creation of this new women's amateur event at the 2018 Masters, sending shockwaves of surprise through the golf world. The Augusta National Women's Amateur will start on April 3 and 4 at Champions Retreat with a 72-player field will be largely drawn from the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking. After 36 holes, a cut will be made to the top 30 players and ties for the final round. A practice round will be held for the full field at Augusta National on April 5, then the final round will be April 6.

NBC will air the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur on April 6 from 12-3 p.m.

Ticketing for the Augusta National Women's Amateur will be handled through an online application process, similar to how Augusta National handles practice-round and select championship-rounds tickets. Fans can apply for two tickets per person, with tickets to the first two rounds being free and the final-round tickets costing $75 each. Applications will be received through Sept. 30, with recipients notified in mid-October.
