Holly Sonders says ‘sexual qualifying’ when she means ‘sectional qualifying’

Holly Sonders was in the studio on Monday night with Shane Bacon and Brad Faxon, recapping the 2018 US Open sectional qualifying results. It's part of Fox's coverage of USGA events and, in particular, the US Open, which is played next week at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.

As she was rolling through some details of the day and some of the scores from the 12 sectional qualifiers, including 11 held on June 5, she got tongue-tied and said "sexual qualifying" instead of "sectional qualifying."

It's live TV, and funny things happen on live TV. Sonders, who is one of the nicest people I've met in golf, handled it well on Twitter:

By long week, she means the Fox Sports golf crew had just wrapped up a long, weather-plagued week at the US Women's Open in Alabama, then hopped into a studio in Los Angeles for a late-night show to recap sectional qualifying ahead of another long week next week for the US Open.

Again, stuff happens, but we can all have a good laugh about it. Just like Win McMurry's "bulging dick" moment.
