Bud Cauley is recovering from a multitude of injuries related to a serious car accident, in which he was involved as a passenger, Friday night after missing the cut the Memorial Tournament.
The accident happened around 11 p.m. local time, and Cauley was transported to a local medial facility. He was treated for four broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a fractured lower left leg.
He shared an update on Instagram about his condition, calling Friday night "the scariest night of my life."
Cauley's father, Bill, posted a Twitter update on his son's condition.
@BudCauley is out of surgery awake and doing great ( other than the catheter ) they put plates on 4 broken ribs. He's probably going to be in the hospital 4 more days recovering, no flying for a couple weeks because of the collapse lung.

Cauley withdrew from US Open sectional qualifying on June 5, as well this week's FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis. It's unclear when exactly Cauley will be released from the hospital and what his recovery will look like before he can consider returning to the PGA Tour, potentially employing a major medical extension. However, he will face several weeks of restricted travel with a collapsed lung. Currently ranked 84th in the FedEx Cup standings, Cauley could potentially return, then, in mid-July.
