PXG’s Operator putter is designed for maximum MOI and forgiveness

Most golfers could benefit from some forgiveness in their clubs, and that includes in their putter. Golfers don't always hit the putter perfectly every time, and that can lead to missing lines, coming up short or any other frustrating putting problem. Wielding a putter with a higher moment of inertia (MOI) rating can help, however, as it will help keep the putter head square to the target even when the ball is struck on the outer sides of the face.

With that in mind, PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf) has created its highest-MOI offering yet in a putter, dubbed the Operator.

The Operator is a mallet add-on to the Milled Insert series, and it's geared toward people who need that extra help as they're not the most accurate with the shortest stroke. The lightweight 6061 aluminum body is largely square-shaped, with diagonal wings coming off the back to offer further stability. A full-length alignment line contrasts the black body, which extends about ball-width from the center of the face. The face is made from 304 stainless steel and has a layer of TPE behind it similar to the material found in PXG's 0811 X driver, all made to offer better feel at impact.

On the sole, there are five adjustable weight ports which can hold 2.5-, 5-, 10-, 15- or 20-gram weights. With five ports, the profile of the putter can change dramatically depending on weight placement, and the total weight can then range from 330-400 grams.

The Operator has three hosel options:

  1. a standard, face-balanced double-bend neck
  2. a plumber’s-neck hosel (Operator P) for minor toe hang to help players with modest arc
  3. a third hosel (Operator H) with even more hang for those wider-arc strokes

The PXG Operator putter retails for $450.
