WATCH: Bubba Watson hit his eagle putt in the bunker on No. 2 at the Masters

Bubba Watson was trying his best to make an early charge on Sunday to win the B-flight at the 2018 Masters.

Likely unable to catch the likes of Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy, Watson had still reached the green in two at the par-5 second. Still facing a difficult putt that needed to skirt the guarding bunker short and right of the back-right Sunday hole location, Watson had to take on a precarious fate to get close to the stick for birdie.

And Bubba didn't pull it off. Instead, Bubba Watson putted his ball in the bunker on No. 2.

Fortunately, Watson did manage to get up-and-down from the bunker for a sandy par, although that probably wasn't what Bubba imagined after he his the green in two.

This isn't the first time -- and it won't be the last time -- someone has putted off the green and into a hazard of some kind at the Masters. Even given his illustrious history, Tiger Woods has putted his ball off the green and into the guarding creek at the par-5 13th. Billy Horschel and plenty of other players have putted balls from behind the 15th green into the pond guarding the second par 5 on the second nine at Augusta National.
