Former USGA president Diana Murphy's two consecutive one-year terms are over, and now she's free to move back out of the spotlight shone upon golf's governing bodies. However, Murphy has moved on to perhaps a better place, as Golfweek reports Diana Murphy is now a member at Augusta National Golf Club.
Augusta National rarely acknowledges membership changes, and they didn't make an announcement regarding Mrs. Murphy joining the club.
Murphy is the fourth reported female member of Augusta National, as she joins Condoleeza Rice and Darla Moore, who were invited in 2012, and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, who joined the club in 2014.
Former USGA presidents have sometimes gone on to become members of Augusta National. Current Masters and Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley was a former USGA president, and he's also the first Augusta National chairman to have competed in the Masters Tournament. Ex-USGA presidents Jim Hyler and Walter Driver are also Augusta National members.
