John Daly found himself laying on the ground on Saturday at Sherwood Country Club, unable to put weight on his knee after suffering an injury during the middle of the second round of the PowerShares QQQ Championship, the second of three Charles Schwab Cup playoff events on PGA Tour Champions.
Daly was on the ground for several minutes before he was helped to his feet and to a golf cart so he could get off the course. Golf Channel aired footage of Daly sitting down, awaiting help, but they did not show footage of Daly's knee buckling.
The withdrawal comes a week after Daly had to pull out of the first leg of the playoffs in Richmond, Va., at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, citing arthritis and bone spurs on his knees. He had a cortisone shot, hoping it would get him through the remainder of the playoffs.

Remarkably, Daly was in contention both times he withdrew. He was 4 under for the tournament when he withdrew on Saturday.
Despite the WD, Daly did finish in the top 36 in Charles Schwab Cup points at the end of the event, meaning he qualifies for the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship in two weeks. It's unclear if he'll be able to play.
