Steph Curry’s first shot on the Web.com Tour landed in a golf cart cup holder

Steph Curry is teeing it up this week in the Web.com Tour's 2017 Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae in California's Bay Area, and this is the first time the Warriors guard, who is barely a plus-handicap golfer, has played in a professional-level event.

He showed some nerves on the first tee on Thursday, teeing off from No. 10 with Stephan Jaeger, who shot 30-under total to win this event last year including the only round of 58 in the tour's history, and winner Sam Ryder. Curry pulled his 3-wood tee shot on the first hole left, with the Web.com Tour website (which doesn't use ShotLink for this tour) registering that shot as landing in the "native area." Well, that's a bit of a misnomer.

Curry's shot actually found the bottom of a cup holder on a golf cart parked on the left side of the hole, forcing Curry to get relief from it before hitting his second shot. He hit from the native stuff again with his third, according to the Web.com Tour, before getting up-and-down greenside to make an all-in-all-not-bad bogey 5 to start.
