An overwhelming percentage of golfers -- 84 percent, in fact -- play cavity-back irons. Cleveland Golf wondered, then, Why don't more of those golfers play with cavity-back wedges?
That question ultimately led to the creation of the Cleveland Golf CBX wedges.
The Cleveland CBX is built to be more forgiving and easier to hit than classic blade-inspired wedges while not dragging down performance as you often see in set-matching wedges that are often sold in the game-improvement and super-game-improvement iron sets. The wedges are designed with the look, weight (read: lighter) and playability of a more forgiving iron, with the line solidly placed between the RTX-3 wedges for better players and the super game-aiding Smart Sole 3 line.
The CBX wedges sport a Rotex face, the company's hallmark design to impart ideal spin with each wedge, while a Dual-V sole grind offers turf and sand relief while maintaining versatility. Feel Balancing Technology is in these wedges as well, moving the center of gravity closer to where the ball is normally struck by amateurs for better distance control.
The Cleveland CBX wedges are available Sept. 15 and will be offered in 46-60 degrees of loft, in left- and right-handed options with men’s steel and graphite shafts and women’s graphite shafts. The men’s steel-shafted and women’s wedges are priced at $130 each, with the men's graphite available at $140 each.
