What is the Hopkins on Vijay Singh’s hat?

Vijay Singh has played himself into contention at the 2017 Players Championship, and it's been a while since Singh has seriously contended for a PGA Tour title (a runner-up finish at the 2016 Quicken Loans National). So you probably haven't seen him much, but you might be wondering what the Hopkins is on his hat. Let's explain.

The Hopkins is for Hopkins Golf, a company started by former Cleveland Golf head man Greg Hopkins. He wanted to shake up golf with a direct-to-consumer sales approach that delivered high-quality, somewhat customized golf equipment at good prices. The company made a splash with its wedges and reasonably priced golf balls.

However, the company's website is no longer functional. The company's Twitter account hasn't posted since June 2015. Singh signed with the company in 2014.

So why is Singh still wearing the hat? Singh is a loyal guy, and he's been friends with Hopkins dating back to his days as the face of the Cleveland Golf staff. He may not have a replacement sponsor, or he may have a deal that extended contractually through the present day. Either way, you're not able to buy Hopkins Golf equipment.
