Why Bryson DeChambeau hit a modern Cobra driver that looks like persimmon wood

Bryson DeChambeau dresses like a little bit of a throwback with his driving cap having become his signature look when he's competing. Now he and Cobra Puma Golf are taking that a step further this week at the RBC Heritage with the release of a driver that looks like it's made of persimmon wood.

As part of the company's limited-edition Heritage Collection, Cobra Golf is releasing a wood-grain look for its King F7 driver. In all of the areas where the standard-issue F7 has color -- meaning the crown and some spot in the sole -- a wood-grain graphic motif has been printed instead. The driver is available starting April 14 for $349 each.

In addition, during the first round of the RBC Heritage, DeChambeau will wear Puma Golf apparel that's part of the collection, including a herringbone edition of his driving cap, brown throwback-looking Ignite Spikeless Sport golf shoes and a button-down cardigan. The entire look is available April 14.
