You may have noticed that Golf Channel and NBC are using a new tool for a tracking line on drives and iron shots, and it's called Toptracer. Protracer was so great, so why did they change it?

Psst. Here's a secret. Protracer and Toptracer are the same thing. Even better, as part of the name change, you can now use Toptracer in person.

RELATED: How does Protracer (now Toptracer) work?

You see, Topgolf purchased the company behind Protracer in May 2016, and they've brought that technology in-house. So it made sense for them to rename Protracer after the company and call it Toptracer. It's the same thing. The good news for you, the average golfer, is that you can now experience Toptracer on each shot you hit at Topgolf locations around the country.

It's a name change with a pretty sweet deal for you, the golfer.
