Annika Sorenstam, Graeme McDowell among five new Arnold Palmer Invitational hosts

Annika Sorenstam, Graeme McDowell, Peter Jacobsen, Curtis Strange and former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge will join forces to together host the 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational, the first time the tournament will be played since the passing of Mr. Palmer in September 2016.

The five-person host committee will take on the roles Palmer performed in tournament week, including greeting players and guests, hosting pro-am parties and helping to present the championship trophy. They will also take part in new events planned to honor Palmer’s legacy and life.

“Arnold was a force of nature, on and off the course,” said McDowell. “We can’t fill his shoes but we can carry on his passion for helping others. I live with my family in Orlando and my children were born at Winnie Palmer Hospital, so I've been a direct beneficiary of Arnold's charitable legacy. I’m honored to be part of such a remarkable event.”

The 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational week is March 13-19, with the tournament played March 16-19 at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando.
