WATCH: Darren Clarke shanked a flop shot at the 2017 Dubai Desert Classic

Darren Clarke cold-shanked one on Thursday in the first round of the 2017 Omega Dubai Desert Classic -- in the process, probably making you feel better about your game.

Clarke was attempted a flop shot with his third shot into the par-4 13th hole when he caught the ball with the hosel of the open blade, not swinging far enough inside to catch the ball for the shot he was attempting.

The result? A hosel rocket shank to the right, landing in the bunker.

Clarke, no doubt red-faced about the shot, wound up shooting 3-over 75 on the round, leaving him 10 shots back of Round 1 leader Sergio Garcia.
