Long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski retiring to take on pro golf career

Jamie Sadlowski isn't finished hitting long drives. He's just finished hitting only long drives.

The two-time World Long Drive champion is retiring from the sport of long drive to try his hand at a career in professional golf. The Canadian made the announcement on his sponsor Callaway Golf's "Callaway Live" digital show.

Sadlowski isn't diving blindly into the world of pro golf. He's played four times on the Web.com Tour, making the cut three times. He's also made one of two cuts on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada. The long hitter also made it through local qualifying for this year's U.S. Open, though he didn't make it through sectionals to get to Oakmont.

"I have a weapon in my bag that not everyone has," Sadlowski said, referring to his prodigious length.

"It's definitely going to be a change and something I'm looking forward to."
