2016 The Honda Classic Monday qualifiers


Tom Hoge, Darron Stiles, Mark Blakefield and Chris Baker all earned spots into The Honda Classic 2016 through the Monday qualifier, which wrapped up on Tuesday morning.

The 18-hole event at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club which sported a field as strong as many PGA Tour events. However, they had to come back on Tuesday just to make sure they weren't beaten or forced into a playoff.

In the end, Hoge, who had some very nice finishes in the second half of last season, was the medalist at 7-under 64. Stiles and Blakefield were in second with 65s each.

When all wrapped up in the morning, Baker and Cameron Percy went into a two-for-one playoff for the final spot in the field at PGA National. Baker won.

The 42-year-old Stiles has made five starts this season on the PGA Tour, missing the cut in his last start at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Blakefield, a University of Kentucky product, is 32 years old and finished 230th on the Web.com Tour money list last year.

Baker is 29 and went to Iowa State University. He's currently on the Web.com Tour, finishing T-47 at the season-opening Panama Claro Championship.
