VIDEO: Eldrick the Golf Robot made an ace on the 16th at TPC Scottsdale

The par-3 16th at TPC Scottsdale during the Waste Management Phoenix Open is one of golf's unique scenes -- fun, but intimidating.

How else can you feel hitting what is normally a pretty straightforward tee shot in front of 30,000 people ready to boo you to smithereens if you screw it up?

But you know who -- or what -- doesn't get nervous in that kind of setting? Eldrick the Golf Robot. That's right: Eldrick the Golf Robot.

The robot, partially owned by CBS Sports golf commentator Gary McCord, was part of the festivities on pro-am Wednesday at TPC Scottsdale, taking swings on the famous 16th. Five swings in, Eldrick the Golf Robot had the hole figured out. It aced the hole (via Golf Channel via FTW).

Of course, the lubed-up fans around the hole absolutely lost it, cheering and littering the hole with beer cups -- many full -- thrown from the stands. It was a lot like when Tiger Woods, whose given name Eldrick is also the robot's name, made an ace on the same hole in 1997, sans the raising the roof.

Just wait until Eldrick the Golf Robot figures out how to win the Masters. Then we're going to regret unleashing this technology on the world.
